Monterey Park, California

Monterey Park, incorporated in 1916, is a city in the southwestern sector of the San Gabriel Valley Region which is in eastern Los Angeles County. The city is about seven miles from Downtown Los Angeles and is bordered by Alhambra to the north, East Los Angeles to the west, Montebello to the south, unincorporated South San Gabriel to the southeast and Rosemead to the northeast.

Monterey Park is part of a group of cities that has a large percentage of Asian Americans. These include Alhambra, Arcadia, Temple City, Rosemead, San Marino and San Gabriel. The city is consistently ranked as one of the best places to live in the country. California State University is located just outside of Monterey Park to the west.

 

Greater Monterey Park Chamber of Commerce

The Greater Monterey Park Chamber of Commerce is a vibrant organization that serves members from Monterey Park, Alhambra, Montebello, Rosemead and the surrounding areas, providing networking opportunities, educational opportunities, and advocacy services. It also publishes an invaluable business directory. The chamber continues to grow and is seeking more members.

 

Garfield Medical Center

Garfield Medical Center, founded in 1927, is a 210-bed general medical and surgical hospital in Monterey Park that serves most of the western and southern San Gabriel Valley. The medical facility is the second largest employer in Monterey Park and a major employer in the San Gabriel Valley. The hospital is affiliated with the Western University of Health Sciences.

 

California State University Los Angeles

California State University Los Angeles, also known as Cal State LA, established in 1947, is a 175 acre hilltop public university in Los Angeles and is part of the California State University System. Monterey Park and Alhambra, which are in the San Gabriel Valley, are immediately to the east. The campus serves all of the San Gabriel Valley and a significant portion of Southern California. The student body averages over 23,000 undergraduates and over 4,000 graduate students. Cal State LA is organized into 9 colleges with over 50 academic departments, divisions, and interdisciplinary programs. The university offers 142 bachelor's degree programs, 122 master's degree programs and 4 doctoral degrees. It also offers 22 teaching credentials. The founder of our company, Michael Chulak, is a graduate of California State University Los Angeles.

 

East Los Angeles College (Monterey Park)

East Los Angeles College (ELAC), founded in 1945, is a two year public community college in the San Gabriel Valley city of Monterey Park which is just east of East Los Angeles. In 2022, an extension of the college was founded in South Gate which is located in southeastern Los Angeles County. ELAC is the largest community college in Los Angeles County with more than 36,000 students. The college offers Associate of Arts and Associate of Science degree programs in more than academic 25 areas. ELAC is home to the Vincent and Mary Price Gallery and the three-story Vincent Price Art Museum.
